In honor of Book Blogger Appreciation Week, which is happening this week, I'd like to do two things.
First, I want to thank my EDIWTB readers. You make this blog fun to write! I love hearing that you've read books you learned about from the site, or reading your comments about a book we've both read, or finding out what great new book you just finished. I check my comments and stats obsessively, like most bloggers, and I love hearing from you. So please comment, early and often! And thank you also to the EDIWTB book club participants, who never complain about the book choices, finish the book on time, and post provoking and thoughtful comments on the book club posts.
Second, I want to share some of my favorite book blogs. I have a ton of book blogs on my blogroll and in my Google Reader – there are a lot of really good ones out there. Here are some of my favorites:
1. Booking Mama. Julie at Booking Mama reads a ton, and posts excellent, long reviews on a range of books, including fiction and kids' books. She always comments on my blog when she's read the book I'm talking about, and she seems to accomplish a lot in her spare time! Very impressive.
2. Books on the Brain. I love this blog. It's serious and interesting, and Lisa (the author) and I seem to share the same opinions on a lot of books.
3. Breaking the Spine. I just discovered this blog recently, and am so glad I did. Jill and I also seem to read the same books, and I agree with her reviews.
4. Books for Breakfast. In 2006, Kristen read 150 books in one year. Last year, she read classics and banned books. This year, she's reading whatever appeals to her. Her reviews are short, ruthless, and usually very accurate.
5. Book Club Girl. Jennifer is an industry insider and has a radio show, does a lot of giveaways, and generally has her finger on the pulse of the fiction world. She sets a great example of how to use a book blog to build community and get the word out about great authors.
Which other book blogs do you enjoy?
About Me
I have been blogging about books here at Everyday I Write the Book since 2006. I love to read, and I love to talk about books and what other people are reading.
