Many BBAW shortlisted blogs are posting the five links that they submitted for consideration for the categories in which they were nominated. If you've come to my blog as part of your BBAW voting process, here are my five links for Best Book Club Blog, in case they are helpful to you:
1. Last September's online book club discussion of Run, by Ann Patchett. I liked that there were so many differing opinions about this book – many people loved it, while others (including me) found it somewhat lacking.
2. The July 2008 online book club discussion of The Septembers of Shiraz, by Dalia Sofer, a painful but worthwhile book that really got readers thinking.
3. Last June's online book club discussion of The Local News, by Miriam Gershow, which also inspired a spirited debate among participants.
4. An online book club discussion from last April of Buffalo Lockjaw, Greg Ames' debut novel about confronting demons in Buffalo.
5. Last December's question and answer session with Lionel Shriver, author of We Need To Talk About Kevin. This book never fails to get people talking, and I loved that Lionel answered all of the reader questions from that month's online book club discussion. That post really contributed to my overall understanding of the book.
Enjoy the voting – there are some great blogs on the shortlists.
