I’m sad you didn’t like this one as much as I did! I finished it last night on a plane, and I think every chapter made me cry at least once. I cried in public far too much with this novel, but I loved it and was amazed how deep into characters he got in this novel. I’m eager to read Matrimony now. I hope if I my reaction to it is similar to The World Without You, then I’m in for a treat.

Yeah, that same aloofness pervades in TWWY as well. I can’t believe I wrote almost the same review 4 years apart!!

I remember an aloofness to Matrimony, but at the time, it didn’t stick out enough for me to not like the book. Now though, with less time to read, I seem to be more critical of my reading.

I enjoyed Matrimony but not as much as most people seemed to, so I’m on the fence about this one.
