I’d love to win this book. Sounds like just my speed.
When I was 14, I fell for a boy…and it was that year that I began a turbulent on-and-off relationship with him that lasted 6 years. During that time, I amassed 5 journals, filled back to back with journal entries, pictures and even collages. When I finally broke free from that part of my life, I decided to purge my life from this story by symbolically tearing up the pages and releasing them in a river (the paper and ink were biodegradable, don’t you worry!) that held some significance in my life. I have no regrets, however, sometimes I wish I could have held on… because as much as that story was rife with pain, it was also rife with experience.Plus, who knows, I could have published it (probably not! lol
)…
Anyhow, I always love books that are “journaling-based”, because they really show the growth of a character, and how his/her decisions affect him/her over a period of time. This book went on my “to-read” list the VERY FIRST time I read a small blurb for it – I would consider myself BEYOND lucky, if I was to win. Thank you (and Crown Publishers) very much for this opportunity.
